You’ve made the first step in deciding to use a planner to organise and manage your time. Now we have some tips on using the planner to get the most out if it, and create a habit of using it every week.
Your planner is 100% reusable and designed to last for years to come. Use the following tips to ensure your planner is kept at its best.
When to plan
Set aside 30 minutes one day a week to complete your planning, commit to it and put it in your diary, with a reminder alarm.
I like to complete my planning on a Sunday morning. I let the kids watch TV for half an hour while I sit down at the kitchen table and run through any plans, take stock of the grocery situation, and start writing my lists.
Create the habit
Your planning needs to become habitual. By setting the alarm and prioritising your 30 minute time slot for planning, the process will become a new and highly productive habit within a few weeks.
Where to Place
The best spot for your magnetic planner is in a high traffic area, for example on your fridge or other magnetic surface in your kitchen.

Many whiteboards and blackboards are also magnetic, and make a great placement area for your planner to ensure maximum visibility.
The full magnetic back of each planner means your item will stick reliably to your fridge or other magnetic surface, without the worry of it falling off or slipping.
How to Clean
If using a whiteboard marker, a slightly damp soft cloth will remove any marker.
If you’ve left the marker on the planner for some time, it may become hardened. To remove any stubborn marker, use a very small amount of window cleaner on a tissue. Be sure to not spray the window cleaner directly onto the edges of the magnet. Windex applied to the edges over time may cause the laminate to lift.
If you’ve chosen to use a liquid chalk marker, this can easily be wiped off using a soft cloth, tissue or paper towel.
Care tips
- Always store your magnetic planner flat.
- Keep the magnetic planner away from heat and steam.
- Keep out of direct sunlight.
